Abstract

Because observational data do not provide the required spatial and temporal resolutions, we aim to develop a simulation model to predict lunar near-surface temperatures at higher resolution.

Reasons and benefits of using JAXA Supercomputer System

It enables us to use a greater number of CPU cores and a larger amount of memory than the computers in our organisational unit.

Achievements of the Year

We compared the simulation results obtained using the revised existing model with observational data, and validated the revised model itself. We also extended the existing heat-transfer calculations to a metre-scale three-dimensional computational model and verified its validity.
