Abstract
This study investigates the improvement of aerodynamic performance and noise reduction in multirotor systems. Numerical simulations and wind tunnel experiments are conducted to investigate the fundamental mechanisms of aerodynamic interferences among multiple rotors and to characterize their acoustic behavior. The objective is to develop advanced performance prediction and design methodologies for multi-rotor systems.

Reasons and benefits of using JAXA Supercomputer System
Accurate resolution of vortical flow around a rotor requires large-scale computational grids and therefore necessitates the use of high-performance computing resources such as supercomputers.
Achievements of the Year
Wind tunnel tests were conducted to provide reference data for investigating aerodynamic interactions between multiple rotors. Pre-test CFD analyses were performed, and the results were used to design and refine the test plan. Extensive numerical analyses were carried out to support and optimize the test planning process.
