Reasons and benefits of using JAXA Supercomputer System
The calculation is large-scale because it involves performing a stator-rotor-stator blade row analyses (1.5 stages) of the LPT using LES, and therefore the analysis cannot be performed without JSS3.
Achievements of the Year
We performed stator-rotor-stator blade rows analyses of LPT using RANS and LES to investigate technologies that contribute to loss reduction. We understood the loss reduction mechanism in the technologies under consideration.
