Reasons and benefits of using JAXA Supercomputer System
JAXA is developing data distribution system to expand the use of earth observation satellite data.
As part of this, JAXA processes a large amount of data for the all of ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 ScanSAR dat with GIS compatible user friend formart (Analysis ready data) and distribute these ARD data in timely fashion .
To achieve this, JSS3 processing was optimal, so we used it.(Up to 50 parallel processing)
Achievements of the Year
Processing of PALSAR-2 data in JSS3 for the period from March 23, 2025 to January 31, 2026 resulted in:
L1.1: 16,265 scenes
L2.2: 14,719 scenes
Total: 30,984 scenes
In terms of playback IDs, 5,052 processing was performed.
Furthermore, as part of reprocessing of past data:
Processing of 17,511 playback IDs was performed for data from August 4, 2014 to December 31, 2017.
Archived data or data processed this fiscal year are provided to users.
(1) User organizations obtained JSS-IDs and downloaded the data from JSS (user-get)
• Transfer PALSAR-2 ScanSAR L1.1 to NASA-ASF
(2) Transmission via Server (put from JAXA)
- Asia region L2.2 transmission via Chofu transmission relay server to Sakura Internet/Tellus
- Global L2.2 transmission via Chofu transmission relay server to GEE
- Global L2.2 transmission via Chofu transmission relay server to AWS (for a limited period)
- India region L2.2 transmission to Sakura FTP server via Chofu transmission relay server for ISRO
(3) Transmission to G-Portal server via data transmission server during order processing on G-Portal (get by G-Portal user)
(4) ALOS-4/EICS (sub-system) from J-SPACE
- PALSAR-2 L0 data
