Usage summary of JSS2 in FY2017

Resource allocation

Five use classifications (see Attachment 2 for details) shown in Table 1 are set, and even if JSS2 is very crowded, use is guaranteed up to the allocation rate set for each usage classification.

Also, when JSS2 is vacant, crowded classifications can be used exceeding the allocation rate, and efforts are made to make effective use of resources.

The allocation result shown in Fig.1 shows the result that the entire job is controlled finely by the job scheduler.

Usage result of specified projects

In FY 2017, four projects shown in Table 2 were selected as prioritized tasks.

As shown in Fig. 2, the actual utilization of the four projects as a whole is 39%, and each project uses about 10% of the total.

Usage result by field

Looking at the usage of JSS2 by field in FY2017, aeronautical technology accounts for about half. In the top three fields of aeronautical technology, space technology (18%), research and development (17%), it accounts for about 85% of the total.

SORA-MA Operating status

The main system of JSS 2, SORA-MA (3.49 PFLOPS), its use has increased rapidly after SORA-MA was upgraded in April 2016.

In 2017, we achieved a much higher level (steadily about 87% in 2017) than in fiscal 2016 due to fine improvement such as job scheduler.

Also, the number of users slightly increased from 664 in 2016 to 667 in 2017.

Job trend analysis
