Abstract

We analyze the effect of payload in the cavity. We validate the computational result comparing with the experimental data.

Goal

The purpose of this research is to predict acoustic vibration caused by a cavity of aircraft.

Objective

The target of this research is to predict the effect of payload in the cavity.

Use of the Supercomputer

CFD to predict acoustic vibration caused by cavity flow.

Necessity of the Supercomputer

Unsteady simulation is more than 1000 times cost compared with steady simulation. We need a supercomputer to obtain a result within a reasonable time.

Achievements of the Year

Figure 1 shows the simulation result of cavity flow with payload. The free shear layer interacts with the payload, and this affects the acoustic vibration. We found that the effect of payload is simulated correctly.
